The Centre for Ethnic Health Research is looking for an experienced administrator. The role is based at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust on the Leicester General Hospital site.

Full time or part hours (22.5 -37.5 hours/week) will be considered for this post, based at Leicester General Hospital. Occasional travel may be required with occasional flexibility to work evenings and weekends to support with the delivery of community events. 

The Centre for Ethnic Health Research is located in one of the most ethnically diverse cities in the UK and is uniquely placed to conduct research on issues affecting the health and wellbeing of ethnic and migrant communities. The Centre for Ethnic Health Research works to address the health inequalities in health care access and health outcomes by supporting individuals and organisations in planning and undertaking research and healthcare delivery involving and understanding ethnic minority and seldom heard communities.

The key purpose of this job is to provide administrative support for the research and community engagement work happening within the Centre to tackle health inequalities. The post-holder will facilitate research project administration tasks, provide general administrative services to assist with the efficient running of the Centre for Ethnic Health Research, provide secretarial support to the senior team, research team and community engagement officers.   

The post holder will be expected to coordinate the day to day administration of the Centre for Ethnic Health Research, under the support and guidance of the Operations Manager. The role involves coordination of the administrative work including mailbox management, arranging and preparing for internal/external meetings, taking minutes, organising external events, maintaining databases and supporting the wider team. 

The post will involve liaison with all grades of staff in a multi-disciplinary department therefore the ability to communicate clearly, calmly and effectively with a broad range of people is important.  The successful candidate will be able to use a range of Microsoft Office applications, demonstrate accurate record keeping skills in line with GDPR and demonstrate they can work with high levels of confidentiality, whilst managing their own time and ability to work with minimal supervision. Organisational skills and the ability to work both on your own and as part of a team are essential. The post requires flexibility and the ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

For this role you must be able to attend the office in person.
